Babangida is an underground hip-hop MC and producer from Svetlogorsk, in the Kaliningrad Oblast of Russia, which resides on the Baltic Sea between Poland and Lithuania. Member of Ленина Пакет He is the winner of 14th independent rap battle @ hip-hop.ru His sound is loose and lo-fi, an aesthetic gained through the use of cheap bootlegged software in place of two turntables and a mixer. The music is distributed in the form of mp3s via the internet in an updated version of the "magnitizdat" distribution responsible for the spread of dissident music during the Soviet-era. Main aspects of his lyrics are social life and politics, Russian rap (he is against everybody).
